Legal Kidnapping: Swedish media’s Islamophobic response

Sharing is caring!

On Monday, 7th February 2022, there was a large-scale demonstration against Swedish social services’ using LVU- child protection laws – to intervene in family life, take children from parents and often place them in worse situations. This is one of the biggest demostrations of its kind.

Sadly, the Swedish media has twisted the facts and responded with a Islamophobic response and is running with that story- from the evening news to national and local papers. The media is applying scare tactics instead of picking up the issue of claim abuse of power by social services and lack of accountability in court and really investigating whether and what the actual issues are.

As a journalist friend said: “the issue is messy and takes time to investigate” after she failed to find support from major papers to run stories about Social Services legal kidnapping activities.

Instead of the messy truth, we see headlines like:

Hate campaign against Swedish authorities- Islamists call for terror attacks” (SVT- the Swedish national broadcaster) Following the link you will be suggested many more news snipets of along the same lines- it’s the muslims that are the problem, not the way our social services works.

Bi Puranen, General secretary of World values survey is quoted as saying “We must be tougher

You say no to help and then maybe the parents lose control of the situation. In the worst case, it is these children who are later drawn into crime.

We have to be a little tougher. We must not say no to this support because if we do not succeed in breaking this already in preschool and school, we will have these problems we see today. We need more civil courage. You actually need this help from us if you want your children to function in Swedish society and we will not take your children. But if you close down and do not want to communicate with society and if there is also violence or crime in the family then the children will be taken.” On SVT

To give our readers an understanding of how this “little tougher” works in real life. If you are afforded the opportunity, then a social secretarty sits with you and asks incredibly intrusive questions about your family. If they see you are not collaborating, not open to social services’ support in telling you how to parent then you risk your children being taken. In some cases, you may not be lucky enough to even have the opportunity as the Social Services refer the most absurd cases to the police who then take the children from school, nursery or home, arresting the parents and holding them in solitary confinement during their investigation.

When the parents emerge from the traumatic experience, having been found not guilty by police investigators, social services still insist on pursuing their own, ideologically led “investigation” and judge the parents as hostile for not agreeing to the children being placed away from home in foster homes while they contiune their investigations to justify their original actions.

Dagens Nyheter reports: “The discrimination ombudsman stated in a report last year that the social services have more difficulty in reaching out with voluntary efforts to families with a foreign background than those with a Swedish background. According to the report, this could lead to more compulsory care at a later stage.”

… in other words, Social Services places your children outside of your home while they investigate and you say no to that “voluntary effort”, they take them under a compulsory care order.

Those interviewed in mainstream media claim that images and video clips have been taken out of context. Well, you have to ask yourself,

how can police officers dragging screaming children from their families be acceptable in ANY context? … only in a country where people live with their eyes shut to what is happening to their neighbours.

We, here at Dark Sweden, truly hope that the current media attention will not die down and there will be proper scrutiny on Social Services and the courts and their handling of LVU cases.

If you feel that the reporting is discriminatory, then you can
